A true traveler thinks through what kind of experience they want. As a traveler, I want my experiences to enrich my 'oiwi perspective that allows me
To do this is to deepen my commitment for my personal and cultural growth that ultimately supports our 'ohana, our kaialulu and our lahui. As a traveler who has been all over the Continental US, parts of Europe, Asia and the South Pacific, I've come to understand how boldly culture underlines our values as a community. So when I talk about travels, I'm really talking about value-drivers. I take my value-drivers from my experiences, including my professional, community, educational and personal pursuits. A true traveler not only thinks through what kinds of experiences they want, but how these experiences can grow positive change. My travels - in the world and in my work -allow me to be flexible and learn new processes as required. My travels set me up for success in my work and my life pursuits by increasing my ability to adapt towards a changing environment where the outcome may not always be known, but trusting that I have control over the change process to grow from the experience. |
